Why You Must Have a Writer’s Platform

Why a writer’s platform?

There’s a lot of people trying to tell you not to have a writer’s platform. I can only assume they hate competition.

Because that’s what you are. There’s only so many books to be published a year. If you publish, they may not.

The question was settled for me when I began visiting major publisher web sites.

On most of them I saw the statement “We do not sign artists without an active writer’s platform.”

That ended the question.

Anyone trying to convince you to the contrary is either ill informed, obtuse or trying to eliminate the competition.

Remember this – you’re the competition.
