I haven’t been writing blog articles much because – my first priority has been my oft neglected first novel series! I finally was able to go through and figure WHERE to split the 210,000 word novel into two.
Once I was able to do that, it was a simple “Read Through and edit down”. I combined several edit phases into one – Looking for Repetition, “Making terse”, eliminating “flowery phrases” and “Filter word edit” – all at once. It took three months, and now the novel stands at… 79,655 words.
That’s with adding four scenes back in, and adding another.
Next edit phase starts Monday – ProWritingAid. Finishing that phase puts it into the LAST phase, sending for critique. If all goes well…
