Confusion In Blogging

There are times I think to myself, “nobody has the least idea how blogging works.” There’s one group that says you should NEVER write an article that’s more than 700 words. Those include people who built careers out of blogging, like Michael Hyatt. He went from being a publisher to a blogger to a motivational speaker to a corporate coach, because he took the time to learn how to blog.

Then there’s the group who say your blog posts should be EPIC. Now, they don’t mean Beowulf kind of epic. They mean 1,500 word count minimum. And those include some names that if you’ve ever bothered to study the science of blogging, they make millions JUST from blogging. Usually, those guys throw the S word around in every blog post, so I don’t read them.

And some people just say that you should blog just your thoughts, and if people like your style, they’ll like your style.

It seems to me that none of the above can be true all at the same time.

Bottom line – if people like your blog, they’ll like your blog.
